Yesterday Maja found my iPod and wanted to listen to some music. I sat her down, turned down the volume, and plugged her in.
Her glee when I clipped the iPod to her waistband was astounding — she could walk and listen to music? Cool. Only problem there was that everytime the earbuds fell out, which was fairly frequently, she said “Mom! The music switched off!!”

That’s great! You might need to find some old headphones that sit on the ears rather than the earbuds.

Guess what’s going to be on next year’s Christmas wish list? ;)
I’ll never forget the look on my younger sister’s face the year she got a walkman for Christmas (she was no more than 5, maybe 4). Pure joy. She took it everywhere with her. Portable music was the. best. thing. in. the. world. The funny thing is, when I gave her an iPod for Christmas a few years ago, she got the EXACT same look on her face. :) Some things never change.
