just one little wish

Filed under: dreams — freeformkatia @ 1:54 pm

I have a small wish. I would like one, seriously just one, morning on a weekend where I can sleep in and not wake up with or from any of the following:

* a hangover (my own fault, granted, but still…)

*  the after effects of food poisoning (again, probably my own fault for eating a questionable hot dog)

* a screaming child (due to illness or hunger)

* a puking and/or barking dog

* ringing from a doorbell, telephone, smoke alarm, burglar alarm

* noisy neighbours

*an early morning committment

* anything else that may cause me to wake up from a much-needed slumber

  1. Good luck with that. However, I totally understand. You need a vacation. But – that didn’t really change things for me either. Waking up early in Cancun was much preferred to the cold though.

  2. Oh dear. Sounds like things are great at the moment. I wish you uninterrupted and peaceful sleep. Hang in there!

  3. I remember expressing the same wish (a long time ago) and then, one weekend it was granted when Dad took over. Though awake, I stayed cozy in bed and let the world go on without me. Bliss!!!

  4. I never thought I’d wake and look at the clock and think “thank god it’s that late” when it read 6:30. oy. On the odd mornings the boys are “sleeping in” (to 6:30) I often wake up on my own at 5:30 anyway. What time is wake up “supposed” to be at your place?

  5. Y’know, when you become a parent sleep just takes on a whole ‘nuther level of significance. Pity the poor parent, the longing they express when they talk about B.C. days (Before Children), the naps, the sleeping in, just the decadently luxurious remembered feeling of having enough sleep. In my mind it is more sacred than the sacraments. I would NEVER wake a sleeping child, but I could be tempted to skip church every so often ;)
