I came into work this morning to read a most distressing email. The sister of a good friend of mine just lost her home in a fire. It’s a total loss. The fire started at a neighbour’s home and spread. 4 firefighters are in the hospital.

This reminded me of the campaign to change the batteries in your smoke detectors when daylight savings time starts and when it ends. That happens this weekend, so it’s a good time to replace the batteries in your smoke detectors. Don’t procrastinate. Don’t say “I’ll do it tomorrow.” Get up RIGHT NOW and go buy new batteries and replace the old ones in your smoke detectors.

Do it for yourself. Do it for your children. Do it for your neighbours.
