parting ways, again

Filed under: musings — freeformkatia @ 8:55 am

I just sent my camera off to the authorized Canon repair center in Illinois. Why? Because somehow on Sunday there was trauma to the LCD screen and it cracked — when I switch it on all I see is some psychedelic colours. Sniff. The rest of the camera seems to be working fine… so, I got an estimate and it was less than replacing the camera. So, off it goes to the repair center. I just hope I get it back before our big vacation.

This is the second time my camera and I have been apart for more than a week. The first time was when I forgot it at my parents after the Christmas holidays. Then there were a few days here and there when Richard hijacked it… but, really, I take that camera EVERYWHERE with me.

I’m going to miss it. So, travel safely little camera and come back to me repaired and ready to capture some family vacation memories!

  1. Dare I tell you that when we sent our camera off to Nikon it took 2 months to get it back??? Yikes. I had to beg them to send it back before we had Liam!

  2. Would you recommend sending it to Canon over going to a camera shop in town? I have a camera with a similar problem, except that it actually takes pictures of the stripey colors. I’ve been debating over whether to see if it can be fixed, or whether to get a new camera, as I really don’t like this one anyway.

  3. Hey Katia–

Mark mentioned yesterday that he bumped into Richard. So here I am at your blog to see what you all have been up too. Lots of fun things, I see. :-)
Hope you get your camera back soon, I know how much you enjoy it!
