8 weeks to go

Filed under: musings — freeformkatia @ 7:18 am

That’s 56 days. Breathe deeply. I was telling Richard this morning that I’m looking forward to having baby out because then I will get some of my mobility back. It’s hard to chase a toddler around the park when it takes you 10 seconds to get up off the grass and it only takes Maja 1 second. It’s hard to chase a toddler around the park when you feel like you have to pee every 30 seconds. It’s hard to chase a toddler around the house when you can’t bend over properly. It’s hard to read stories to a toddler who wants to sit on your lap in the evenings only to discover there’s no room left in mama’s lap.

And Lord knows, I want baby out so that I don’t feel like a big fat awkward immobile blob who finds going up the stairs a struggle. Elyn, my dear preggo friend, be happy that you have all of your main living quarters and necessities on one floor (bathroom, kitchen, bed — this is very important). Too bad your t.v. is downstairs… but that can be moved. :)

This afternoon I have an appointment at the USCIS Philadelphia service centre for ‘biometrics’. This relates to the petition I filed 2 (?) months ago to have the temporary condition on my green card removed. I’m not stressed about it, just annoyed by it. I’ll be so glad when all of this is over with and I can apply for citizenship!

  1. 1. why do you have a temp condition?
    2. I hear you on chasing a toddler while pregnant– it’s also difficult postpartum, and then while tring to breastfeed or wear baby, but not as bad.
    3. congrats to Elyn– I didn’t know she was pregnant. When is she due?
