Chinese New Year

Filed under: Uncategorized — freeformkatia @ 8:42 am

On Saturday Richard and I took Maja to the UPenn Museum for the Chinese New Year celebrations. We primarily went to see some of the dancing — and Maja loved it. She was fascinated by it and stared and stared at the stage. Everytime the dancers stopped she would say “more? more dancing? more music? more? more?”

Now the bonus part of all this? It was basically free. It shouldn’t have been, but the woman at the entrance was so flustered and mad about something, that she didn’t charge Richard the $8 admission to the museum. I got in free with my PennCard, and Maja got in free because she’s under 6 years of age.

This goes well with my quest to find cheap and/or free entertainment in the city. It’s there — you just have to look for it. Also, to help us out with this on the kids’ end, is a new newsletter that is being published called Dancing Meatballs. Wahoo!
