bento follow-up
I’ve had a few questions and some interest about my bento.
First, there are some really good Bento blogs out there. One that I read and really enjoy is Lunch In a Box.
There are A LOT of different kinds of bento lunch boxes that you can buy. A lot. Remember, too, that you don’t need a fancy schmancy bento box to do a bento lunch. You can use Rubbermaid/Glad containers! My philosophy about it all is that bento is a meal packed in one container with smaller containers or dividers inside to keep foods separated. You should tailor the container size to your appetite and maintain portion control.
That being said here are a few links to bento box styles:
Fit’n'Fresh (I saw this one at Kmart as well as at my local grocery store)
Aladdin — I bought the Lunch’n'Go Salad set @ Kmart
Zojirushi– my beloved Mr. Bento
I know that there are a lot more options out there. Just recently (as in yesterday!) Ichibankan opened their online store… access to a lot of affordable (i.e. $1.00 to $1.50) bento accessories. Let’s just say I went a little bento crazy this morning!
