walking to the moon
I was musing today, wondering really, how many miles away the moon is and if one could walk there. Thanks to the glory of the internet, I had my answer in minutes. The moon, as it turns out, is approximately 239,000 miles away. That means I would have to walk about 654.8 miles/day if I wanted to get there in a year. Clearly not feasible. I probably walk about 5 miles/day (a wild guess) — so that’s 47,800 days or ~130 years. I have an impossible task infront of me unless I really up my miles/day.
I was relating these small facts to the sales clerk at the sports store today where I went to buy a pedometer. His response was to look at me as if I had already taken several unauthorized trips to the moon and perhaps was currently residing on it. He clearly had very little interest in what I was saying and just wanted to sell the crazy-lady a pedometer.

Stumble It!
